Dr. Yenny Angel VanderWaerden was born and raised in Bogota Colombia where she saw a need for better medical services in large under- represented communities, especially in more rural areas in both Colombia and other South American countries. It was in that context that she started her journey as a student in Medicine and committed all her energy to becoming a doctor. Dr. VanderWaerden received her medical degree from the University of Juan N Corpas in Bogota, Colombia and served many community health programs as both a medical student and intern.

 

After immigrating to the United States, 

Dr. VanderWaerden completed her U.S. medical residency in internal medicine at UCSF Highland Campus Hospital in Oakland, California. Since becoming a board-certified physician, Dr VanderWaerden has worked in major medical centers in both South and North Carolina as well as participated in medical school sponsored community work in Central America.

 

Dr. VanderWaerden is now looking forward to fulfilling her goal of returning to her roots as a medical professional committed to delivering fast, efficient and timely medical care to any potential member of the community in need of an experienced practitioner, a medical advocate, or a source for general health and wellness information.
